With the junior winter tennis season well underway, Thongsbridge sisters, Chloe and Ellie Chawner, both continue to impress with their winning streak. Playing in an under 14s winter county event in Wrexham, Chloe took the top spot with comfortable wins, and went on to repeat the achievement in Leicester, where she beat younger sister Ellie in the final.

Ellie’s form continued, with this promising youngster taking the runner’s up medal in an under 12s event in Shrewsbury, and coming 3rd in a Cheshire tournament.

The U9s county tour event in Batley saw rising star George Barton play some superb tennis to come 3rd, and the talented Jacob Chadwick close on his heels in 4th place. Robert Sandiford, recuperating from a viral illness, battled through his matches and secured an encouraging win.

Jacob Chadwick was also competing in a higher grade, regional tour event, in Sheffield, where 5 hard fought victories secured him 9th place in a strong field.

Holly Horsfall, playing in the under 18s regional tour event in Bolton, continues to look strong, suffering a narrow defeat in semis.

Margetson sisters, Lucy and Charlotte, are going from strength to strength. They competed in match play events in West Bridgeford and Sheffield respectively, and both took a couple of excellent wins.
