Thongsbridge youngster, Barney Fitzpatrick, former under 9s National Champion, is still enjoying success as he moves through the age groups. Now competing in the under 10s, this talented youngster received an invitation to the national level Masters tournament, where he put on a dazzling display at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, coming 3rd overall
Robert Sandiford, under 9s, has been enjoying success closer to home, taking top spot in a Thongsbridge event, and he also secured a solid win in an under 10s event at Huddersfield Tennis Club. Competing in some tough regional tour events in Liverpool and Derby, he managed 11th and 14th place respectively, and took a win in the Batley county tour event to come 10th.
Charlotte Margetson also had a couple of wins in the Liverpool tournament, and in county tour events she managed an impressive 3rd in Warrington, and 2nd in Middleton.
Oliver Vesely (U10s) was in action in Derby, where a great run saw him take the runners up medal, whilst Georgia Draper (U9s) came 3rd in Sunderland.
Dominic Vesely (U9s) travelled to Hull to compete in a “player plus†event, a hugely beneficial learning experience for youngsters, as they receive advice from their coach during their matches. Dominic had 2 great wins, and will no doubt have learned a lot, to take forward into the summer season.
Chloe Chawner (U14s) has been accruing “ratings winsâ€, playing matches against players of the same rating, in a bid to move her own rating up for the summer season. She has had 3 wins in 3 matches in Nottingham and Leicester, greatly boosting her chances of that elusive ratings rise.
Having enjoyed considerable success over the winter season, including enjoying her debut in the Yorkshire squad, Lucy Margetson (U10s) was unlucky not to secure a win in the challenging regional tour event in Liverpool, but continues to flourish and shows considerable promise for the future.
