When life gives you lemons…
When facing tough times, receiving challenging news or having to face adversity in any form,
it’s easy to retreat and throw in the towel. But two years ago, when fellow member Megan
learned that her Grandma had been diagnosed with cancer, Megan was far from being
defeatist. Not only did she want to act to help others suffering from cancer, she did her
homework and found a charity that helped kids her own age (younger and older) also facing
the battle of this debilitating diagnosis.
Megan, aged just 12 herself, decided to grow her hair and donate it to the Little Princess
Trust. The Trust specialises in helping those kids who lose their own hair due to cancer
treatment. It relies on donations from dedicated souls like Megan to provide wigs to children
with cancer to restore their self-esteem and confidence.
To be able to make the donation, Megan had to grow her hair to a minimum of 30cm, no
mean feat! So, two years in…and…yes! This incredible young lady has done it! On Wednesday
13 April, Megan had her appointment booked to lop off a whopping 30cm of beautiful locks,
carefully looked after for some two years!! Not only has Megan provided the goods for what
will help a young child face the challenging times of treatment, she has also raised an
incredible total of £900 to date with her fundraising page!
Megan, we are in awe of you and the children just like you who are prepared to go that extra
mile to consider others in the kindest and most practical way. Your hair is stunning, and we
know will bring the broadest smile to the child who receives the lift they need with a
beautiful new wig. We salute you…and your fabulous new bob hair cut! You’re rocking it!
It’s not too late to donate to Megan’s fundraising page, so if you think you can help push
Megan over the £1000 mark, please use this link: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/louise-coffey4?utm_source=Sharethis&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=louise-coffey4&utm_campaign=pfp-email&utm_term=1ca7bcfa509248fba0b56f528f1999b3
