A most creative Christmas!
On a crisp and beautifully bright Saturday morning, our club café space took on a distinct festive vibe, more akin to a florist than a sports club, as this year’s wreath making workshops got underway!
The sun shone brightly though the glass as session leader, Leanne, prepped the space for a creative day of transforming vast amounts of greenery and beautiful decorations into the most stunning door pieces. It’s incredible how much preparation goes into these sessions, so a huge thanks to Leanne for taking so much time and care to source such a selection of materials for us to choose from.
The morning session saw one brother, sister and mum all getting stuck into a family wreath-off! They were all showstoppers; you couldn’t choose between them. Such talent! The whole group, six in total, produced incredible masterpieces, all enjoying some time out and a good creative challenge.
A quick breather for Leanne and the afternoon session got started. A regular of the wreath making sessions, Sue, worked her magic, crafting such a beautiful and colourful piece, and in record time! A little balancing out and expert intervention from the pro was required on the other side of the table as there was a little wonkiness creeping in! By the end of the session and a glass of fizz later, three further festive stunners made their way in front of the camera.
For those who couldn’t attend, Leanne kindly made additional wreaths all perfectly finished and ready for sale. Table pieces and advent candle arrangements were also on offer, though we think they may all have been snapped up by now!
The whole day was so much fun and a welcome escape from the crazy pace of day-to-day life. We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Leanne and well done to all our talented members!
