Ashtanga Yoga Classes With Heather Irving
At Thongsbridge Tennis and Fitness Club
Ashtanga yoga is a powerful sequential yoga which links postures and rhythmic breathing. The focus initially is on the physical posture and the breath, but as the practise deepens the concentration, focus and calmness, creates an escape from the stresses of modern life. It helps build on strength and flexibility and a calmness of mind.
TRX Training (available on request in the gym)
TRX is a type of training that uses your own bodyweight and gravity, to build strength, balance, co-ordination, flexibility, core and joint stability, all while
preventing injuries.
Circuit Training
A class using a variety of exercises combining cardiovascular and muscular stations, for a highly effective full body workout. This class is suitable for all fitness levels.
Core Strength
A full body workout (non-aerobic) based on the principles of Pilates, Callanetics & Yoga.
Kids Fitness
Kids fitness is based upon the change 4 life development model to improve participation in sport and physical activity. We aim to Emphasise on multi skills, cardiovascular and muscular fitness and provide a fun well structured non per iodised approach to exercise.
Toning
This class focuses on toning, shaping and conditioning the whole body with use of free weights.
Pregnancy Yoga
Increase strength and vitality and reduce your stress levels and keep you and your baby in good health with specially adapted yoga postures and movements designed to strengthen and support the body through pregnancy. Gentle yoga practices will focus on opening the body and allow the free flow of energy, and creating space for your growing baby. Movements will stimulate all the bodies systems helping to alleviate minor common problems in pregnancy and promote a deep sense of wellbeing. Learn breathing and relaxation techniques which will help you to deepen your breath, release tension and restore the body's natural balance. A friendly environment in which to meet other pregnant women, take time for yourself and connect with your baby.
Post Natal Yoga
This is a gently yoga with your baby by your side to enhance the post natal recovery and stay calm and focused for your motherhood with specially adapted yoga. Sessions will help you regain fitness; strengthen your pelvic floor muscles; realign your spine and help you to relax and enjoy deep rest.
Pilates
The Pilates class incorporate exercises that improve posture, strength and core stability ensuring the increase of lung capacity and circulation through deep breathing. This class is suitable for all fitness levels.
Zumba (NEW)
Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow the Zumba participants to dance away their worries. It is based on the principle that a workout should be "FUN AND EASY TO DO" allowing Zumba participants to stick to the Zumba Fitness program and achieve long-term health benefits. Zumba is a “feel-happy” workout that is great for both the body and the mind.
ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music - dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system! The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning. It is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps.
