I’ve been coming to the club for a few years as we have two children who started playing tennis at around age five. I wasn’t a tennis player myself but when our children joined the futures program I decided to start having lessons to keep up with the rest of my family and so my wife and I also joined the club last year. I’ve been impressed with the community feel of the club and it has become a big part of our family life. We joined with the initial intention of playing with our children but we are now playing both together as a family and separately with other members who we have come to know in recent months.
Other than tennis, I spend most of my time chasing the children around other sporting activities including cricket at Thongsbridge and football in Lepton. I also coach for Lepton Highlanders FC under 8’s where Joel and Elissa play.
I have a busy but fulfilling role at work, where I’m the CFO of On the Beach Group plc. On the Beach is a travel agent which organises holidays for over 1.5m people a year. The Group is headquartered in Manchester with c500 employees. Prior to this I was Group Director of Finance at ghd hair and held senior finance positions at Asda and Deloitte.
I would welcome the opportunity to become a part of, and to contribute to, the next chapter in Thongsbridge Tennis club’s journey.

I’ve been a member of club for the last three years. I am regularly down at the club, usually participating in Pilates three or four times a week. I am now semi-retired and feel I have the time to commit to club. I work as an associate for University of Huddersfield. My career has spanned both higher education and fashion retail.

I would like to put my name forward to be on the committee to represent the studio classes. I’ve lived in Thongsbridge since 1986 and absolutely love it here. I have been a gym member of Thongsbridge Tennis & Fitness Club for just short of 10 years. I take part in a Pilates session every weekday morning when possible. I have tried the more energetic aerobic classes, which I really enjoyed – unfortunately, my knees didn’t! I hope if appointed, that I can help the club in whatever way is needed in making it even more successful and prosperous.
