Game on! Pickleball: from 3-32!

Pickleball at Thongsbridge is thriving! What started with just three players back in February, has grown into a wonderful pickleball community of 32 members. Last week marked a milestone as all four courts were in action simultaneously for the very first time.

We recently enjoyed our first inter-club match – a friendly against Barnsley. It was a fantastic learning experience with a well-established club, and we picked up plenty of tips for future games. With our strong Thongsbridge line-up, we see more matches on the horizon with local clubs like Wakefield, Stocksbridge, and Penistone.

So, now would seem an appropriate time to send a big shout-out to Nick and Jesus, who have taken their first steps on the coaching ladder! They’re now planning the next stage to support players of all levels.

Excitingly, three regional clubs have opened stunning new facilities. We’ll be visiting York, Nottingham, and Sheffield soon to gather ideas for our own development plan.
