Our new covered padel courts are open… and they’re already busy
If you’ve been around the club this summer, you’ve probably noticed there’s been a bit of a buzz around the new padel courts. Since opening our two covered courts, we’ve seen a steady stream of members, as well as new faces, getting involved and returning week on week! What started as a summer launch programme has quickly turned into a growing community of people who have caught the padel bug. It’s been brilliant to see.
Whilst some players have arrived with plenty of experience, others had never picked up a padel racket before. Either way, the courts have been full of laughter, competitive rallies, new friendships and plenty of “just one more game” moments.
A fantastic summer of padel
In fact, the summer programme has exceeded all our expectations. From coaching sessions and social play to beginner 101’s, the courts have seen some cracking action. One of the nicest things has been seeing people return. Many of those who joined us for their first session have come back regularly, bringing friends, family and colleagues along too. That’s exactly what padel does best. It’s easy to pick up, great fun to play, and before long you’re looking for your next game.
The good news? You don’t have to wait for an organised session
While the coaching and social sessions are continuing, our new covered courts are also available to book. So if you’ve been watching from the sidelines and meaning to give it a go, why not get a few friends together and try it for yourself? The covered courts mean you’re protected from whatever the Yorkshire weather decides to throw at us.
Padel at Thongsbridge
We’re incredibly proud to have added padel to what we offer here at our much-loved Thongsbridge Tennis & Fitness Club. As more people discover the sport across Huddersfield and West Yorkshire, it’s exciting to see a thriving padel community developing right here at the club. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a fitness studio fan, a tennis player looking for something new, or someone who simply enjoys getting active and meeting people, we’d love to see you on court.
