Christmas Players of the Block!
8U – Bobbie Byram Clifford
Bobbie’s game development over the course of this block has been tremendous. He has become extremely reliable when holding rallies with other squad members and his ability to compete well in competitive situations has improved no end. It is therefore no surprise that this block has seen Bobbie achieve some of his best tournament finishes to date.
Well done Bobbie – have a great Christmas!
Mia Wilkinson
Mia is a key member of our 8U futures programme and has been working hard to improve all aspects of her game. With her serve improving and her ability to hit effective forehand & backhands with topspin getting more reliable all the time it bodes really well for her new goal of becoming a great match player in the new year. Well done Mia – I’m sure Santa will reward you for your efforts!
9U – Isabella Sands
Isabella has been working really hard on all aspects of her game under the watchful eye of coach Matt Wesley. Her consistency both in a rally situation and when looking to take control of points is improving all the time and has lead recent successes in her last few tournaments. Well done Isabella – have a great Christmas!
10U – Sophie Robinson
Sophie continues to put in some serious hours on court and is refining her technique all the time. Improving the ability to hit the backhand cross court has been a recent focus and the progress is clear to see. Having qualified for the next Grade 2 10U competition at the end of this block we wish Sophie the best of luck. Well done Sophie – keep up the hard work!
Junior – Harry Dyson
It would be fair to say that to this point Harry’s success in tournaments hasn’t always matched the promise shown in training. However, this block has seen a dramatic change in fortune. Harry has won his last 3 events and is beginning to show great competitive traits in match situations. We are all really pleased at the way things are developing Harry – well done!
